Specialist Accountancy Practice and Premium Business Broker
I specialise in selling accountancy practices across New Zealand and also represent a small number of premium businesses where confidentiality, strong financials and a carefully managed sale matter.
I hold an accountancy degree, began my career as a manager in public practice and have spent close to ten years in business broking. For more than seven years, my primary focus has been accountancy practice sales.
Since 2018, I have completed more than 60 practice sales, ranging from sole practitioners to substantial multi-partner firms. Most come to me through referral or from within the profession.
I Understand Accounting Practices
Accountancy practices have their own sales dynamics. Recurring revenue, client retention, staff continuity, partner transitions and succession planning all affect value and buyer confidence.
My accounting background means I understand these issues and can speak the language of both vendors and purchasers. It also allows me to identify concerns early and provide advice that stands up during negotiation and due diligence.
A Personally Managed Process
I take on a limited number of engagements at any one time, working with quality practices and businesses where I believe I can add genuine value.
Each sale runs through a structured process: a thorough appraisal, a professionally prepared Information Memorandum, confidential marketing to qualified buyers, buyer screening and information control, and negotiation through to settlement.
I remain personally involved throughout.
For many vendors, selling is not simply a financial decision. Retirement, family succession, staff, clients and professional reputation can all be involved. The process needs to respect those considerations while still achieving the strongest practical outcome.
Premium Business Sales
While accountancy practices remain my specialist area, I also represent a limited number of established private businesses each year, often through referrals from accountants or previous clients.
These are generally profitable, well-run businesses whose owners want a discreet and properly managed sale rather than broad, uncontrolled exposure.
If you are considering selling an accountancy practice or a substantial private business, I am happy to have an initial confidential conversation.
